This year we Americans spent billions of dollars enriching China for fireworks to celebrate our freedom from tyranny of the king, for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
It seems typically modernly American to hire foreign slaves who live under the conditions against which so many Americans fought and died.
In my community a church finances its youth program through sales of fireworks made by people denied Christianity and silenced by government violence.
